Holidays to Christchurch
Christchurch is the largest on the South Island, known as 'The Garden City', for its multitude of public parks and established residential gardens.
Located on the picturesque River Avon, we suggest you take a stroll around the beautiful Botanical Gardens or let someone else take the strain on a relaxing punt ride along the river. There are plenty of options for dining from the street food at the vans in Cathedral Square or try The Terrace if you'd prefer to dine in.
Undergoing extensive regeneration after the earthquakes of 2010 & 2011, this is a city in an exciting transition. With the inspiring street art & entertaining buskers, the creative and enterprising nature of the local people is clearly evident. Visit the unique Cardboard Cathedral, built quickly to provide a place of worship for local people.

Kaikoura is one of the best places to see marine life in New Zealand, only 2.5 hours away. Try whale watching or swimming with dolphins. Or simply see if you can spot fur seals & wading birds along the shoreline before refuelling with delicious local 'koura' (crayfish).
Visit waterside Akaroa, formerly a French & British settlement for arts & crafts & relaxed dining on the harbour. For the more active, why not swim with rare Hector's Dolphins (the world's smallest!) off the Banks Peninsula?
Take the TranzAlpine to historic Greymouth; considered one of the best train journeys in the world. Appreciate the breath-taking vistas of the beautiful Canterbury plains and then the snow-capped mountains of the Southern Alps!
